J&R FORMS PARTNERSHIP WITH CENTURY 21 DEPARTMENT STORE
Two iconic New York brands come together to create J&R Express in Century 21's flagship store
NEW YORK, N.Y., August 12, 2014 - J&R and Century 21 Department Store are proud to announce a partnership to open "J&R Express" in the lower level of Century 21's flagship downtown location in October of 2014. The approximately 1,500 square foot boutique promises to have the best curated selection of the hottest portable electronics, computer gadgets, music, vinyl and movies coinciding with the 2014 Holiday shopping season, and perfectly timed with the resurgence of Lower Manhattan's business and tourist activity.
Century 21 customers will now have access to all things J&R, bringing special music events to Century 21's flagship store, including performances and in-store meet and greets.
Rachelle Friedman, Co-Founder of J&R Music and Computer World said, "While we are redeveloping the block and planning the future of Park Row we wanted to answer the demand and out crying of support for J&R to remain a fixture of Lower Manhattan. We thought of no better way than partnering with what former Mayor Rudy Giuliani after 9/11 called our fellow Anchor of Downtown retail' - Century 21."
"As a fellow lower Manhattan retailer, we've always been familiar with and appreciated all J&R has done for our neighborhood" said Raymond Gindi, Century 21 Department Store CEO. "We're honored to bring on New York City's iconic electronics retailer as part of our Century 21 family and look forward to expanding our partnership to other areas of Manhattan."
